# Moving Macs and refunds

> How to move your Pomeroy licence to a new Mac, and how the 14-day refund works.

## Moving to a new Mac

A licence covers **one Mac at a time**, and moving it is yours to do. There is
no support ticket in the way.

    Open the store's customer portal from your purchase email and release the
    activation for the Mac you are leaving.

    Each activation is labelled with its `instance_name`, which is `Pomeroy`
    plus eight random characters, generated on that Mac. That label exists for
    exactly this moment: so you can tell which activation is which without
    Pomeroy having to know anything about your hardware.

    Install Pomeroy, open **Settings → Licence**, and paste the same key.

<Note>
  Nothing carries over automatically. Your toggles, grants and Messages
  bookmark are per Mac, because they are macOS's to give and yours to grant.
  Expect to run through setup again, which takes a minute or two.

## Refunds

**14 days, any reason.** You do not have to explain, and you do not have to
have used it less than some amount.

with, or ask through the store's customer portal.
