Contacts

Claude can look people up in your Apple Contacts. Pomeroy never creates, edits, or deletes a contact — there is no tool for it.

Contacts is Pomeroy’s narrowest app: one tool, which searches. Nothing writes.

Can

• Search by name, organisation, email address, or part of a phone number
• Read back the details of the people it finds

• Create a contact
• Edit a contact. Never, not even when asked

Worth knowing

One tool is the whole surface

Your address book is the kind of data where a mistaken edit is hard to notice and hard to undo. Pomeroy ships no write tool for it at all, so an assistant that decides to “tidy up” a contact simply has no function to call.

Search matches fragments

A partial phone number or a few letters of an organisation is enough. Matching is case-insensitive.

What a search returns becomes part of the conversation

As with every app: the details come back to your assistant, and go wherever that conversation goes. Ask about the people you would be happy to paste in.

Permissions

Switching Contacts on asks macOS for access to your contacts (NSContactsUsageDescription).
